Pledge on 08/08/08 ** 08年08月08日の誓い
It's Augutst 8, 2008. "The number 8" is associated with prosperity and confidence in Chinese culture. That's why the 2008 Summer Olympics started at 8:08pm on 08/08/08 in China.
Since the number 8 looks like the infinity sign when it's laid down, it reminds me of Karma (which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect--goes around; comes around), healthy eco-system (recyclying!), etc.
Since today is a very lucky day with the number 8, we would like to pledge to help the prosperity of our community that goes around and comes around(giving back to the community). From August of 2008, partial profit of Yoga, Peace, and Love will be donated to the following organizations:
1) Alzheimer's Association Orange County Chapter
2) Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
When you take our yoga classes, you are also a part of my eco-system and you are helping our society!

今日は、2008年8月8日です。中国では、8とういう数字はとても縁起が良く、繁栄と信頼を意味するそうです。なので、今年の夏季オリンピックは、開催地中国の2008年8月8日8時8分に幕を開けたのですね。
8という数字は、横に寝かせると「無限大（infinity）」を意味するシンボル「∞」に似ていることから、カルマ（良いことも悪いことも自分がしたことは、必ず自分に戻ってくる）やエコシステム（物だけでなく全ての行動のリサイクル）などと関連付けられたりもするそうです。
今日はそんなラッキーな数字が盛りだくさんな日なので、 私たちの住むコミュニティーの繁栄に役立つことをすることに決めました。今月8月から、Yoga, Peace, and Loveの売り上げの一部は、下記団体への募金活動にあてられます。
1) Alzheimer's Association Orange County Chapter（アルツハイマーに関する団体）
2) Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation （乳癌に関する団体）
これからは、Yoga, Peace, and Loveのヨーガクラスを受けられた際に、このエコシステムの一部として、私たちの住むコミュニティーを繁栄させる取り組みにも同時に、自動的に参加されることになります。
